Stocking Stuffer Guide & Giveaway
Growing up, Saint Nick’s Night was the best night during the holiday season. We celebrated on the night of December 5th by leaving our shoes out by our beds and hoping to wake up on the 6th to find them full of treats. Its a Slavic tradition and a great way to start the holiday season! We loved finding candy that reminded us how good we had been all year.
Our boots were filled with treats similar to what you would put into a stocking. To celebrate small gifts that mean a lot, I’ve decided to put together a stocking stuffer guide and giveaway! I love filling stockings with very traditional items that we will always use… even if they aren’t relevant anymore, they have so much meaning. All of the items in my giveaway are all products that I use and love.
Here is what I love to fill Christmas stockings with:
a tooth brush Every year we received a toothbrush in our stocking. I don’t know why, but I could never fill a stocking without one!
nuts in their shells and an orange I am highly allergic to tree nuts, but since they are in their shells I am safe. Even though I never eat them, my mom HAD to put nuts and an orange in every stocking she filled. It’s supposed to represent good wealth into the new year because fruits and nuts were once considered an expensive treat during the winter.
chocolate Truffles and with peanut butter happen to be my absolute favorite way to eat it!
gold foil chocolate coins It’s believed that Saint Nicholas left gold coins for children. It’s also a Hanukkah tradition.
miniature treats They’re just really cute. Airplane safe size toiletries and miniature sized perfumes are always good too!
makeup Eyeliner, lipstick, mascara…
hard candies and candy canes It wouldn’t be Christmas with out some hard candy that looks too pretty to eat!
